When you don’t trust yourself or your body…

One of the really hard challenges about mental health is being exhausted with low capacity and very little energy to make changes or take action.

Everyday decisions feel overwhelming and are layered with feelings of worry, anxiety, fear, guilt, sadness, anger, loneliness and worthlessness. Then add a heavy dose of pressure and judgment (internally & externally by society) on top and it becomes a painful downward spiral.

When you are in this state, you don’t trust yourself, your mind or your body.


Different Approaches

Traditional therapy for mental health

Top down approach

Traditional talk therapy is a top down approach starting with the mind and it can be very helpful for mental health issues as you talk through the problem.

Your psychotherapist typically looks at changing negative thought patterns and providing you with coping strategies that lead to self awareness.

The problem is when you have a mental loop (a story on repeat) traditional therapy can feel slow and ineffective because you keep circling around the same issue at the same level of capacity - sometimes this can last for years! (Note: When I say capacity, I’m referring your capacity to feel, to make decisions and to take action without burning out).

Somatic therapy for mental health

Bottom up approach

Somatic therapy is a bottom up approach. As a certified practitioner, I discuss the issue with you and then I look at what your body is communicating. Your body also tells stories. It holds memories, emotions, tension pattern but unlike the mind, you can’t twist and bend the story. If you feel afraid, your body shows this. If you feel unsafe, your body will react. If you feel angry, everyone around you feels it because your body communicates it. .

By working with the story the body is telling us, things will start to make more sense. It’ll make sense why it’s so hard to do the things you want to do and more importantly, through nervous system regulation, you’ll learn how to rest and recover.

In the session, I’ll guide you every step of the way so you can turn up just as you are. You don’t have to change anything or prepare anything beforehand.

I know some of this won’t make sense until you experience it for yourself. But rather than trying to work out mentally if this will work for you (I know you have tried many things) come along and try it out. I’m just 1 hour from Munich and it’s 90 minutes to try something potentially life changing.

  • Intake Sessions: 90 mins

    • In the first session, we will get to know each other. The first session also includes an initial diagnosis and a standard treatment, just like any regular session.

    • Goal: In the first session, you can find out, without obligation, whether the Grinberg Method is right for you.

    Follow up sessions: 60 mins

    • We will begin by discussing any special circumstances and changes since the last session. This will be followed by the regular body-oriented psychotherapy portion. At the end, you will have a few minutes alone to rest.

  • Sessions are usually conducted with partial clothing / underwear. If you prefer to wear clothes, that’s also ok.

    • In-take Sessions €135 (90 mins)

    • Follow Up Sessions €110 (60 mins)

  • This totally depends on your insurance. Some private insurances cover all or only part of the treatment while the German public health insurance does not cover any costs

  • Yes.

    • You can reschedule or cancel your appointment free of charge 48 hours prior.

    • Changes last minute incur 85% no shows incur the full 100% fee.

    • If you are sick, there is no charge, just send a medical certificate / report via email.
